Cubanissimo

Well, unfortunately we did not visit the aquarium today because Annabelle was a bit congested. Sorry to all you people waiting for pictures, we did not get any today. We did go to the Mexican grocery store to buy some yuca and other hard-to-find items. We spent the early evening preparing a vegetarian Cuban feast, and now I am excited to taste the results. The yuca and rice fell to me, while Wifey prepared the black beans. Everything should be ready soon, so I have to run. Have a great night!

Sleeping with the fishes

Woo-hooo! I am so ready for a couple of days off. If all goes to plan, the family will be going to the aquarium tomorrow. I have been looking forward to an outing all week. Annabelle has never seen live fish, so it should make for some interesting reactions. I will try to get lots of pics for those in need of visual stimulation. Hope you are doing well and having fun.

Progress

I came across this website today and found it extremely interesting. Seems like a perfect match--solar power and recreational boating. I also like the inspiring nature of the "little guy" who dreams big and succeeds.

Stuck

Okay, so you know how sometimes a song gets stuck in your head after hearing it once and you just can't get it out no matter how hard you try? This happened to me yesterday and I STILL can't get it out. And it's not a good song either. It's actually pretty terrible. Since misery loves company, I have decided to share this wonderful masterpiece with you. Listen at your own risk.

Little Packages

I like to keep an eye on the future, especially innovations that shift our use away from fossil fuels. I see the acute need for any new technology to be economically competitive as well as effective. To date, most of the alternative fuel vehicles require a compromise that renders them unattractive to the consumer. Be it long delivery times, lack of power, dull or unattractive styling, unproven technologies, or subpar fuel economy, the current iterations have failed to make a widespread impact on the consumer psyche. Enter PML Flightlink. Why not make a car that does not require unattractive sacrifices? Make it fuel efficient, fast, reliable, and stylish. The Result. All I can say is...make these for the market ASAP!

Weather Center

Our severe weather experts have issued a "State"ment that many "Florida" residents will find comforting. Hurricane season ended early this year! That should give those folks down south some peace of mind and time to rebuild before next season. Maybe next time they will be better prepared for the devastation. Go Noles!

Guess who stood up all by herself today Posted by Picasa

Crikey!

Well, Andre is done and Labor Day is almost over. All that's left to do is watch the UM-FSU game tonight! This game is always a heated battle and splits our household right down the middle. The good part about being on opposite sides of this contest is that someone always is happy at the end. Hopefully I will be the one smiling before bed! I was saddened to learn of Steve Irwin's death this morning. He was an amazing personality and great conservationist. It was a reminder that none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. So, in the spirit of the Crocodile Hunter, let's live it up while we can! Go Noles!!!

Praying for rain

Tonight I watched the replay of the Agassi-Baghdatis match. It had all the elements of an epic battle. A seasoned, accomplished veteran in the swan song of his career. A man whose body betrays his skill and determination. His road this year has been harder than any of his previous journeys to the Open; the matches he's played have been incredibly demanding both physically and mentally. This one is no exception. His forehand is noticeably slower and he is having difficulty keeping those sideline volleys in bounds, but what he has lost in physical ability he more than makes up for with superb shot selection and unequalled finesse. His opponent, younger and stronger, begins to fatigue and appears exhausted but continues to make great plays on the ball. Agassi fought on. Thousands of fans chanting his name between every point. A whole stadium hoping for the unthinkable. And he delivers. Again and again. Wisdom and intestinal fortitude win the battle against age and time. It will not be the last match of his career, but it may prove to be the best of his final outing. He desperately needs time to recover from the strain so he can play his heart out again, showing us that unbelievable champion's resolve one more time. His next game will be tomorrow, unless it is delayed by the weather. They will let him play through the pain, but not the rain!
