All over but the crying
The hospital Wizard is here to regale you with tales of progress on the baby front. Wifey has been checked in and situated in her labor and delivery room. Everything went without a hitch except for the insertion of the IV. Wifey was a trooper, but I turned as white as a sheet and had to sit down. Hope Annabelle doesn’t inherit my weak tolerance for needles. The nurse fitted Wifey’s belly with a baby monitor so we can check Annabelle’s heart rate and Wifey’s blood pressure. We even have a screen that shows the same stats for every occupied delivery room, so we will know what’s happening when the lady next door starts screaming! We were fortunate enough to get one of the two rooms with a Jacuzzi bathtub which should go a long way towards making it more comfortable for post-delivery washings. The room has a wonderful view and I can even catch a glimpse of our neighborhood in the distance. Our labor and delivery nurse Betsy has been accommodating, and except for a plate of the most awful hospital food ever, the experience so far has been pleasant. Wifey received a pill which should help expedite the labor process and she is laying down for a short nap. The pill wears off about every three hours and the nurse comes back in to administer a new one. This may continue until morning, so I am trying not to get too anxious. I don’t have wi-fi access here, so I will have to post when I get to web access. In the meantime have fun and stay tuned for updates. Here are some Wifey hospital pics to tide you over.
