Back to the Grind

Well, I have just successfully completed my first full day of work in a while and I have to say, it feels good. I was sad to leave my ladies this morning and anticipated the day creeping by, but to my surprise it went smoothly and quickly. Everyone at work was delighted to see the plethora of pictures I have taken of our baby and it was fun to relate the first of the baby tales to my coworkers. Annabelle went to her first pediatrician visit today and was given a clean bill of health. Her vital statistics are all in line with her development and she is in the top 5 percentile for overall length—one long baby! She was a lot more aware and curious about her surroundings yesterday and I am sure that has only increased today. The breastfeeding seems to be going superbly and she is maintaining weight and having bowel movements with regularity. The doc said we have to begin putting her down to get her accustomed to sleeping alone. This will be a welcome development when it occurs, but I imagine the process will be a long and noisy one. I am getting ready to leave Jiffy Lube after having my oil changed and am looking forward to seeing my girls. Have a great evening and stay safe.
